Wika Type Foundry was born out of Øystein Wika's dual passions for music and design. Originally driven by a need to create unique band logos and poster designs, Øystein's early foray into type design began with hand-drawn fonts in 1987. He later transitioned to digital font creation using Macromedia's Fontographer and has since moved to Glyphs as his tool of choice.
While developing the interactive version of the National Tests in Mathematics in Norway (2004-2006), Øystein designed a custom low-footprint font with mathematical characters, offering enhanced capabilities for the Flash-based application.
Øystein has continued to develop custom fonts and logos for several projects up until today.
